It always amazes me that a good farmer can control a huge cow with just a little stick. We had some heifers get loose on our Vermont land and I went out to shoo them home. They sensed that I didn't know what I was doing and chased me back into my house to call the neighbors who owned them.
They sent their 8 year old daughter, who chased them all home with a stick about the size of the one in your picture! Brought back a wonderful memory.
James, "huge cow" - that's the point, ;-). Countless are the times where we were encircled by cows on the road and even if the farmers have told us before: just hushhush them away with a litte slap on the back ... no chance. I guess the cows were always thinking we were kind of practicing some abstract dancing - they might have been very amused.
helen, thanks. This little one was really stubborn.
